Keith Wilson B.Eng, B.Ed. M.Ed (Music), Cert TEFLA
Keith has been a working musician and music educator for well over fifty years. As a woodwind specialist mainly on saxophones, flutes and clarinets he has worked in a variety of settings/ensembles including bands, orchestras, chamber groups, recording studios, television studios and leading five star Hotels in genres ranging from Classical to Pop, Rhythm and Blues and Jazz. This includes working with US and UK stars such as Sammy Davis Jnr, Johnny Mathis, Johnny Ray, Andy Williams, Ethel Merman, Max Bygreaves, Reg Varney and our own Olivia Newton-John His performance work has taken place in Victoria, South Australia, Vietnam, England, United Arab Emirates and in Qatar’s capital Doha, in the Middle East. He continues to take on engagements in Melbourne and near his home in Geelong, and is still involved in recording and teaching.
As an educator Keith has worked in schools in Melbourne, Ballarat, Geelong, West Sussex and Norfolk England, USA and in Doha, Qatar. For much of this time he was employed as Director of Music at leading Independent schools in Werribee (Westbourne Grammar), Lancing West Sussex UK (Lancing College) and Adelaide (St Peters College). Completing a Master of Music Education from the University of Melbourne in 1981 he broadened his scope of involvement in music and music education through activities like composing and arranging, conducting, examining, adjudicating and workshopping. He has been involved in nearly 50 Musicals including, Me and My Girl, They’re Playing Our Song, Guys and Dolls, West Side Story and Les Miserables amongst many others.
Lessons are conducted once weekly (unless otherwise arranged). Lessons are 30 minutes in length with Keith Wilson and we will be in touch to arrange your exciting lessons. Feel free to buy more than one and we can lock in a time that stays as 'your time' weekly time until you need to change.
